Advancing and Celebrating Science and Engineering

MSEF is the leading enabler of future thought leaders through experiences in science and engineering practices using well-proven programs and novel approaches that empower students and educators to learn in and beyond the classroom.  It is an honor to be celebrating our 70th year and a distinct privilege to have empowered and trained science and engineering leaders over the past seven decades.  On October 10, 2019, we will pause to celebrate this momentous milestone.  A special thank you to the thousands of exceptional students, families, educators, partners, and sponsors who have traveled with us on this incredible journey.

As we look ahead to the next 70 years, we are focused on building MSEF’s capacity to ensure that the organization is well-positioned to advance its important mission.  As a non-profit organization, MSEF relies on the generosity of its donors to raise capital and make strategic investments.  Funds raised from the 70th Gala will be instrumental in positioning MSEF for success.

MSEF programs benefit 73,000+ Massachusetts students each year, helping them to achieve success both in school and beyond the classroom. Through effective student mentoring in schools, MSEF inspires and guides young researchers and innovators to realize a passion for science, engineering and technology while building essential career and life skills.  Students develop foundational STEM competencies; learn to think logically, creatively, critically, and independently; and learn critical lessons in communication and perseverance through their research and project work.

MSEF programs are free and open to all children (grades 5-12) across Massachusetts.  We believe that all children regardless of gender, zip code, race and ethnicity should be empowered through science and engineering practices. To that end, we are proud that over 30% of MSEF’s successful schools are in high-needs districts.
